Article submission

TJES accepts original manuscripts of the following category:

  • Research articles and critical essays (4000-6000 words)
  • Work in Progress for Research Scholar (2500-4000 words)
  • Teaching Notes (1000-1500 words)

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure you carefully read and adhere to all the guidelines and instructions to authors provided below. Manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned.

Editors reserve the right to modify and improve the manuscripts to meet the Journal’s standards of presentation and style.  Editors have full right to accept or reject an article for publication. Editorial decisions will be communicated with in twenty working days of the receipt of the manuscripts.

When a manuscript is submitted to TJES, it goes for internal blind review and if fulfills basic requisites determined by our protocol, it goes for the peer-reviewed double-blind process.  An acceptance/rejection letter will be sent to your e-mail when your paper is accepted into the peer review protocol. Peer review process may involve numerous phases of revision and the entire review process will take about three months from the date of submission. 

Teresian Journal of English Studies (TJES) does not charge the authors any fee for article processing or publication.
However, authors and interested individuals/institutions are encouraged to subscribe to the journal through the Journal Subscription page.

Preparing Your Manuscript

All articles submitted to TJES should adhere to the following guidelines. 

The research paper or article must be plagiarism free and original.

The research paper sent for publication should not have been published elsewhere, or be under review for any other journal.

The text of a submission should only be in Times New Roman font, of 12 point font size and 1.5 lines spaced paragraphs.

The research paper should have suitable in-text citing and References based on the latest MLA  (Modern Language Association) format (Latest Edition). 

 Title

The title phrase should be brief and should encapsulate the argument.

List of authors’ full names (first-name, middle-name, and last-name).

Affiliations of authors (department and institution).

Emails and phone numbers.

Abstract

The abstract should be less than 300 words. The keywords should be less than 10.

Abbreviations

Standard abbreviations should be used all through the manuscript. The use of non-standard abbreviations should be kept to a minimum and must be well-defined in the text following their first use.

Article content

The article should have well defined sections with an introduction followed by the main argument, theoretical framework, analysis and conclusion. Please note that paragraphs should not be categorized with sub headings. 

Tables and figures

Tables should be kept to a minimum.

Tables should have a short descriptive title and should be numbered consecutively. 

Acknowledgments

Acknowledgement of people, funds etc., should be brief.

References

References should be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the paper following the latest MLA format. DOIs links to referenced articles should be stated wherever available. Names of journals should be presented in full and not abbreviated.
